We have received a few questions regarding the transition from Charlie and Sons to American Disposal Services to Patriot Disposal.
GWCC did not authorize Charlie and Sons to hand over our accounts to American Disposal. The only reason the board is involved in this process at all is to protect the roads in the community.
However, to help expedite the transition, GWCC contacted many local disposal companies to find one who would provide the same service we are used to with smaller trucks and not only did Patriot agree to that but their rates are substantially lower than what they were with Charlie and Sons for the same service.
Last week American Disposal started the service in our community and unfortunately tore up the paving in a couple of courts when they had to turn around so we decided in the best interest of the community to ask them to not return. Please contact American Disposal to cancel your service with them (703) 368-0500 and you will get a prorated refund. Then contact Patriot Disposal (703) 257-7100 to set up a new account with them. The GWCC board is very sorry for any confusion and inconvenience that this has caused but is hopeful that the rest of this transition will be smooth.
